Adding money to a Junior Stocks & Shares ISA
You can add money to your child’s Junior ISA from your Monzo account, either as a one-off or by setting up scheduled contributions.
Friends and family can contribute
Family and friends can add money using a gifting link.
They can include a message with their gift. You’ll get to review the message and choose whether to keep or remove it.
Your child will be able to see their gift messages when they turn 18.
It's not currently possible to pay in by bank transfer or set up a standing order from another account. We're exploring more ways for friends and family to contribute in the future.
Keep an eye on the annual allowance
There’s one Junior ISA allowance for each child every tax year, shared across all their Junior ISAs. A child can have one Junior Cash ISA and one Junior Stocks & Shares ISA at a time, even if they’re with different providers.
Everything paid into their Junior ISA counts towards the same £9,000 annual allowance - whether it comes from you, friends or family.
We’ll show you how much of the allowance has been used and how much is left in the Monzo app.
Once money goes in, it belongs to your child
Money paid into a Junior ISA belongs to your child and can’t be taken out until they turn 18.
So it’s worth thinking about whether you might need the money before adding it.
