What are Notices of Correction?

Notices of Correction are statements of up to 200 words that you can add to your credit file, on things like missed payments or defaults.

You can use them to explain why you might’ve struggled to make repayments for reasons like losing a job, being too ill to work or being a victim of fraud.

If you add a Notice of Correction to your file, lenders will have to read it. But they don’t need to take it into account when they’re deciding whether or not to lend to you.

We also have to review any Notices of Correction on your file when you apply for credit, otherwise we can’t approve your application.
